Stocks to Buy Today - Stock Message Board, Discussion Forum, Blog

I am from Canada so please keep this in mind when trying to answer my questions...

What is a good firm to trade through that offers great charting software? I plan on getting into this heavily as I am reading alot of advice on the forums around the internet and back checking stock picks. Turns out, the internet forum guys have a below par batting average. Thats nothing against anyone here, but I feel like getting ideas from the net and doing the research myself instead of blindly jumping in on someone elses advice, but I don't have the tools or the knowledge. I need help finding good charting software that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg.

What are some good books to pick up about trading? Like, that would tell me what a candle is ect ect.... I know nothing. But I am hungry to learn.

Who offers cheap cheap trades? I'm getting 6.95 trades from my bank, but you are buying and selling stocks through their website and it is very inefficient. I can see that clumbsy system getting me into trouble down the road....

I'd really like some help!

I use sogotrade at 3.00 a trade and i am very satisfied with them . And their support is excellent.
And egate does good charts for a cheap price. I use it but sometime i would use more options that are not available.. Like saving zooms, but overall it is very good.. With real time quotes.
how do you trade after hours?
Where can you look to see how a stock is doing after hours?
Why don't they just run the damn markets over night.
Does it ever happen that a stock bombs over night while you are all cozy and sleeping? hardly seems fair./..
out of curiosity are trading using Investor's Edge? Everything you said seems identical to the clumbsy/unorganized Investor's edge

Ie. I cannot see the real-time quote unless I put a buy/sell order up. For example with BGOI, I had put a buy order of 1 share at .017 just to see the current real-time price and obviously it filled. LAME
