dear all,

im not really a specialist in trading, my strategy is just buy and hold. I have been watching this stock IVN and during last month it has rallied from around 12.44 to 16, and i was wondering whether upward trend will continue or there will be some sort of pullback. i would appreciate if anyone could do the technical analysis of the stock, what are its resistance and support levels, etc. thank you and looking forward to your replay.

I don't know your style of trading or your tolerance of risk and pain. I would HIGHLY suggest reading Stephen Bigalow's Profitable Candlestick Trading. It gives you everything you need to know about Candlestick Charting. If you're a serious trader, I would read the first 5 chapters and see if it makes sense. Buying on fundamentals is ok; but selling is strictly technical.
found the book, thanks. already reading, if anyone would like this book i can send. its 20mb. thanks again, Matt.
Send it my way please!
Another fantastic book that gives a complete overview on Technical Analysis is Alexander Elder - Trading For A Living. These are 2 fantastic books that I have recommended multiple times on this website. Hope the books help you as much as they've helped me.
thank you

Rob, the charts featured in the videos you uploaded on youtube are they all created by excel?
lukas.., if your a buy and hold investor. IVN (Ivanhoe Mines Ltd) has another 80% owned "coal" company SGQ-T (SouthGobi Energy Rscs) going with an IPO in Hong Kong during last week of Jan2010. As IVN owns 80% its stock price is rising as a result of the expected positive sell of the SGQ, ipo. SGQ has a very large producing coal find in Mongolia and China is the main customer less than 50 km/miles away. IVN is the main builder of the Oyu Tolgoi copper/gold mine in Mongolia, massive reserves and the investment agreement was finally signed this past Oct 2009 between Mongolia, IVN and partner Rio Tinto.
(IVN short term price is $17 -$20 Canadian for 2010 by 2-financial brokers)

As long as copper, gold keep rising, go a bit sideways, no disturbing world events over next 2-5years, IVN (Ivanhoe Mines) is going to bloom better than the rosiest of roses. IVN is also in Australia and some 2-other countries, but Mongolia is its mother-load. You may also want to follow-up on ETG-T.., long terms
thanks terry, really helpful
