Micron (MU) Stock Halted for news pending.  This halt is a T-1 halt which means the company will be releasing some kind of news.  Micron (MU) should open for trading about 15-30 minutes after the news is released.  Maybe Micron (MU) won their appeal?  I will post the news when it comes out.

CEO dies -

-- We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Appleton, Micron (Nasdaq:MU) Chairman and CEO, passed away this morning in a small plane accident in Boise. He was 51.

Our hearts go out to his wife, Dalynn, his children and his family during this tragic time.

Steve's passion and energy left an indelible mark on Micron, the Idaho community and the technology industry at large.

The company expects to provide additional information later today.

Micron Technology, Inc., is one of the world's leading providers of advanced semiconductor solutions. Through its worldwide operations, Micron manufactures and markets a full range of DRAM, NAND and NOR flash memory, as well as other innovative memory technologies, packaging solutions and semiconductor systems for use in leading-edge computing, consumer, networking, embedded and mobile products. Micron's common stock is traded on the NASDAQ under the MU symbol. To learn more about Micron Technology, Inc., visit www.micron.com.

Well that's sad news, I think he was up in one of his stunt planes it sounds like.  The stock might not reopen today.  I think the FAA is going to hold a press conference at 3pm EST.  More details to come.  MU remains halted

Very sad Tim. 51 years old with a family. Life is short.

I echo that Danny...that's a very sad story...

Resumed trading down 4%. It will rebound though. Bah I wouldn't sell on this news out of respect.
