Have these guys gone the way of the dinosaur or will they come back from being pummeled today. They pre reported horrible guidance and blamed it on sprint (S) and their prepaid wireless woes.
Does anyone even shop their?
The stock is at a three year low and you cannot find anyone that says anything good about it. The contrarian in me says maybe a buy here???

Permalink Reply by Greg Gross on February 1, 2012 at 11:36am Agreed. There's still one in the closest mall near me and I have no idea how it survives. I like their stores and what they sell, but I find them to be expensive like you said.
Permalink Reply by Daniel F on February 5, 2012 at 11:16pm I certainly agree with this one! If they don't take a new approach this trend will most likely continue.

good point that chart does not lie
Permalink Reply by Marcus on February 1, 2012 at 7:50am What's cool about Radio Shack is they have all these little stores across the US. I think they should merge with Circuit City or some other electronic store and do a complete re-model. I don't see how else you can compete with Best Buy.
Permalink Reply by Stocks To Buy on February 1, 2012 at 10:56am Yea I agree, they seem to be everywhere, especially if you don't have something near by and you have to drive far.
Permalink Reply by orlando on February 1, 2012 at 8:46pm I have seen a compact version of Best Buy in malls... could it be that they are testing if it is profitable enough to where they would buy radio shack?
be cool to see best buy buy out the shack. Hope it happens and we hear in time to get in on it.
sorry about the typos. broke out a bottle to celebrate gmcr earnins
Permalink Reply by Dow Jones SP on February 1, 2012 at 10:33pm RSH is trading at a very low multiple however their earnings are on a decline, they missed last quarters earnings by almost 70% and lowered their guidance for the year(without stating a specific # which should concern an investor). I think their business is done and the best thing that can happen is a company buy out their real estate. Another member mentioned best buy as a candidate, which i think would be a great thing for bby as they need to downsize their stores cause it's way too big. If you want to be in this space, I'd go with bby.

The Shack made a move today
