The Bakken Shale
The Bakken Shale is a large oil field located in North Dakota, Montana, and Alberta Canada. Companies have been pumping huge amounts of oil out of the ground and upping their proved risked reserves. Companies also discovered another zone in addition to the Bakken Shale called the Three Forks/Sanish Oil Field. The Bakken Shale is here to stay for awhile so feel free to discuss anything related to the Bakken below.
My Top Two Favorite Bakken Shale Stocks are Kodiak Oil & Gas (KOG) & Brigham Exploration (BEXP). But since BEXP was bought out by StatOil (STO), my next bakken stock pick would be Whiting Petroleum (WLL).
