The Eagle Ford Shale is a large oil field in South Texas.  The Eagle Ford Shale has been around for ages but was recently discovered back in 2008/2009 after several test wells resulted on some huge oil wells.  The economics of the Eagle Ford Shale are great because it's easy to connect to other nearby oil pipelines.  The Eagle Ford Shale is estimated to hold around 3 billion barrels of recoverable oil.  Many companies discussed below are actively drilling and exploring the Eagle Ford Shale in hopes to strike it big.  Companies acquire mineral rights from landholders and leaseholders in order to gain the right to drill for oil and natural gas.

Eagle Ford Shale Stocks - A lot of money has and will be made off the companies drilling in the Eagle Ford Shale.  Just like the Bakken Shale , exploration companies continue to find more and more oil.  This mean more potential profits for the Eagle Ford Shale stocks.
