Rare Earth Metals have been the hot sector in 2010 & 2011. China currently controls 97% of all rare earth mineral production. China is cutting exports due to the high demand and low world supply.
Outside of China, the only major upcoming mine is the Mountain Pass Mine ( located in California ) which is owned by MolyCorp (MCP). This mine is due to reopen in 2011 and be very productive by the end of 2012.
Other Hot Rare Earth Metal Stocks are:

"He estimated rare earths contained in the deposits amounted to 80 to 100 billion tonnes, compared to global reserves currently confirmed by the U.S. Geological Survey of just 110 million tonnes that have been found mainly in China, Russia and other former Soviet countries, and the United States."
This can move down the prices.
Will be nice to know who will take the profits from extraction!
