I started investing/trading stocks in high school about 10 years ago. I got serious and started trading when I was 18 and went self employed by age 22 ( I could have earlier but it was a big leap ). I like to think that with all the research hours I put in from age 18-22, I have a masters degree in the stock market.

Some of my best trades were in 2004-2006 when times were good. I remember when Apple released their first earnings report with IPOD sales included for the first time. AAPL stock soared! I would buy Apple right before earnings for four straight quarters and saw huge gains as Wall Street caught on to the IPOD craze. The Nasdaq used to halt Apple's stock right before they released earnings because they were so good... Wall Street would expect .38EPS ...Apple would report .96EPS .....it was absolutely insane! Apple would open back up after the halt...up 20%

I bought the Google ( GOOG ) IPO at $99 after it hit $120 and retraced. That was a hot one! I still remember sitting there and placing my order. I even bought into the Baidu ( BIDU ) IPO and watched the hot chinese search engine take off opening day. The stock then retraced to $45 and now trades around $260.

If Twitter ever comes out with an IPO, I will back up the truck on that public offering.

I made this free stock message board so that traders can come together and discuss stocks on a daily basis. Hopefully we have thousands of eyes and ears out there, we can find the stocks that are moving, quickly.

I don't trade nearly as often as I used to ( I would do 20-40 trades per day ) but I still trade the open on most days.

My philosophy is " Buy High - Sell Higher " but on occassion will try to buy a stock on a dip. I have learned that one should never try to catch a falling knife because the risk is huge....the trade is already going against you by going down. I want to buy stocks that are already going up because they are already doing what I want them to do and are most likely going up because of good news. I also cut losses very fast and regroup - one should never fall in love with a stock.

My best trading advice is to buy a stock when it is breaking the high of day ( breaking out ) or when a stock is breaking through a previous high. This is when you can really see explosive gains. But keep in mind, you still have to do your research and while the success rate is high, it is never a sure thing....some stocks just have a false breakouts.
