Stock Screener March 12, 2010
This is a running discussion where we can share things we see jumping for either a daytrade or a swing trade.
I have a screener that really helps finding daytrade opportunities. It finds which stocks will, by the end of the day, be trading at at least two times its 30 day average volume. I look for stocks that really are jumping on volume (and hopefully news) and then employ Tim's breaking the HOD plan. I put my reverse Fibonacci retracement on these and just wait. I will post what I find jumping when it shows on the screener.
I will also post what I think may be swing trade opportunities.
Every morning you can go to Tim's blog page (link on top of page that says stock blog) where he posts pre market movers

Well it will be interesting on Monday. I don't think anyone knows where the market is going in the medium term. CNBC was talking about the huge option activity in C. I don't understand options very well, but apparently this is behind the cash move.

If C gaps up & closes the gap on Monday, I take that as a signal to go short.

Monday will be interesting, a lot of intriguing short-sales. C finishes as a Bearish Engulfing with above-average volume in overbought territory. Not good for anyone holding. The open Monday will tell the story. A gap down will be extremely Bearish.

agreed, for XLF bearshed engulfing, made some money on FAS put
while FAS was at 91s

Yea Terry, XLF is also forming a Dark Cloud Cover, not good for anyone holding it.

IYF is the ETF behind the FAS/FAZ pair. What do you think about it on the daily chart?

Jake, i daytrade FAZ, but didn't today. Could have made 50 cents. The trend has been up for financials for the past few weeks, but maybe that's changing based on the bearish engulfing pattern on XLF today so far.
